My teaching is based on an understanding and awareness of the involvement of both mind and body in the art of singing and on the Free Voice Method which can literally ?free? your voice from old habits and constraints and enable you to sing with ease. Your sound will improve as will your enjoyment of singing in whatever style you choose. If performance anxiety has been a problem for you, I can help you to work through that and learn to enjoy singing for others.
I have been a professional musician for over twenty-two years, singing with Seattle Opera, in musical theater, with a number of different churches as a soloist and/or choir director, a freelance soloist, and jazz and blues to name just a few things. I am also a professional member of NATS, the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
I began teaching in xxxx and students in my studio are an eclectic mix of singers with a wide range of interests and expertise. I welcome all who would like to find their true voice, whether it be to pursue a career in singing or to get more enjoyment out of singing in the shower.
My studio is located on Phinney Ridge near the Woodland Park Zoo.
Lessons are private and my rates are $45 per hour or $35 for 45 minutes.

Janet Kidder is friendly and approachable(as good teachers should be). She encourages, but never overstates. She's picky, but not exhaustive. Casual, but able to teach trustingly. Being taught by Janet is a delight, never a chore.
